Since the 2nd Annual Placencia Lobster Festival held in 1999, the event has been honoring the community’s fishing heritage with the Placencia Fishing Tournament that takes place during the festivities. All are welcome to get a team together with a local boat captain and try your luck at catching the fish that wins the big cash prizes! You can also support the local Placencia Rotary Club and its community projects by participating in their annual Duck Race, giving you more opportunity to win prizes.
The biggest prize-winning game of all during the three-day weekend, however, is the Placencia Lobsterfest Raffle! At just a mere BZ$2 a ticket, this highly anticipated raffle features up to a 100 prizes that offer luxury hotel stays, dinner certificates, tour adventures and so much more which are all being donated by generous businesses involved in Belize’s tourism industry.
